Remembering McKenzie Credit Group Founder Joe Hawes

McKenzie Credit Founder, Joe Hawes, passed late this June. We will remember him and his many accomplishments that have had an immense impact on not only McKenzie Credit Group as a business, but the spirit of the work we do to help aspiring entrepreneurs realize their dreams.

Joe’s altruistic nature and dogged determination lead him to great success with the numerous business ventures he founded under his management company, Hawes Group. Aside from McKenzie Credit Group, Health First Financial (AccessOne), Hero Business Services (Ensource), KG Hawes, Hawes Ventures real estate, and one of the nation’s premier collections agencies, Professional Credit (Professional), are all a result of Joe’s unique vision and industry expertise.

It’s these same traits that made him a compassionate leader and force of good in his community. Joe was a notable philanthropist who believed in giving back to his community and illustrated his values by providing regular support to organizations like St. John’s Foundation (PeaceHealth), Evergreen Health Foundation, Samaritan Foundation, Boys & Girls Club, St. Charles Foundation, Eugene YMCA, Volunteers in Medicine (VIM), and Food for Lane County. But his real passion was evident in his dedication to helping young people and budding entrepreneurs rise in business as he did. He was an active mentor who donated time and resources to the Lundquist College of Business at the University of Oregon, and of course…

McKenzie Credit was born out of this same enthusiasm.

It was Joe’s vision to provide opportunities for those at the beginning of their business journey, people who shared the same dedicated work ethic, with access to the resources necessary to reach their full potential. At McKenzie Credit Group, will remember Joe for his keen mind and generous heart.

We are proud to continue this work as Joe’s legacy.
